Major Problems

So far, very few.

1) Relative angles of Chrome shaft mounts on front suspension

Resolution: Heated top mounting plates to Red Heat and bent to match lower plates

2) Weedy 9mm End on Chrome Shaft

Resolution: RHE are now sending chrome shaft locators which partially solves this problem but I have had 12mm stud inserted in place of 9mm end. Also have fitted my own location plates

3) Rollbar modification for coil overshocks - confusion

Resolution: RHE variously recommend two or four inches cut off the rollbar so I decided to go for three. As it turns out, at this height the top of the shock hits another part of the chassis so cutting any more off would not result in a lower ride height.

4) Steering shaft as supplied by RHE with the 4-1 manifold has too big a hole for the Sierra steering coupling

Resolution: Welded in! Make sure this is done very well, your life depends on it!

5) Fitting of rear wings. Not mentioned in build diary at time of writing, 13/5/01, but they are a bugger, with this in mind I have the following suggestion. If you takle the job in this order, rather than as per diary you might find it rather easier. Fit rear panel. Make up rear wing including fibreglass. Roughly position wing on rear panel then roughly position side. One this is correct at the front you can bend the side and the rear to match the curve at the front of the wing. In my case I had bent the side by guesswork and it was about an inch out.
